An Empty Box Is My Heart

brantly This band's 1st 7" is a lost classic (you can currently buy it dirt cheap on Discogs!), but this 2001 EP, (with a digital recording that doesn't do it justice as crackling vinyl would serve these charcoal-black spoken-vocal dirges much, much better) it picks up where that single left off (even redoing 'Plan'...but I like the 7" version better) with the band's Nick Cave meets Black Swans meets Johnny Cash meets Galaxie 500 drinking-alone slowcore. A nice EP by a massively underrated band. Favorite track: Apologies.
